About My Skills
| I've been in the graphic design field for nearly 25 years, from the days when "cut and paste" was a literal term. My background in newspapers and magazines has proved invaluable, as I've gained experience in all facets of print communication. I own a Howtek 7500 drum scanner, capable of scanning 18" x 22" media. My main projects now center around book design and publishing, and magazine and newspaper advertising.

| My objective is to design effective and innovative materials. My home studio provides everything to accomplish this goal, and my skills in graphics programs allow me to work with a variety of tools and ideas. I also am a quick study and can master programs in a short time. I work well with clients and co-workers, fostering an atmosphere of fun and the idea that anything is possible. Working at a newspaper for several years has taught me the importance of deadlines and quality control. I can be depended on to complete assignments on time and error-free. Responsible for color correcting, size, format and digital compatibility of files submitted for magazine publication. Rebuild layouts following supplied digital templates and printed comps. Typesetting, tracking, and kerning. Scanning, sizing, silhouetting, color correcting hi-resolution digital photos. Work closely with production managers, advertisers, printers, preflight techs and artists to assure all materials submitted to printer are error-free and compatible for DTP production. Place ads on magazine pages, at times after converting to correct mode, color correcting and/or other manipulation to assure files are in correct format. Make correction to magazine pages submitted by page designers. RIP pages and produce printer-ready proof and DCS2 files.

Work directly with outside clients to design and produce business cards, letterhead, brochures, flyers, posters and sales materials. Design materials and produce paper, PMT and chromalin proofs, negatives and work with pressmen through final printed project.
